Exercise, health and recovery, rethought: “Männersache im Heilbad” (Men’s Business at the Spa) in Bad Weißenstadt am See is an innovative, scientifically suppor…
Discover your manpower!
The project is scientifically supported by the University of Bayreuth, the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority and the Siebenquell GesundZeitResort.
What is “Männersache im Heilbad” (Men’s Business at the Spa)?
Many men know the feeling: in everyday life, exercise and sport often fall by the wayside. Strength, stamina and flexibility slowly decline. This is exactly where the programme comes in!
The aim of the programme is to motivate middle-aged and older men to become more active and more health-conscious for the long term. It combines the classic health offerings of a spa town with an exercise programme developed specially for men.
The programme is scientifically monitored and looks at, among other things:
- Physical activity habits
- Well-being
- Motivation to stay active in the long term
The results are intended to show how spa towns can make a targeted contribution to promoting men’s health in future.
Who is the programme for?
The programme is aimed at men:
- aged between 45 and 70
- who are currently not very physically active
- who would like to bring more exercise back into their everyday lives
- who would like to actively strengthen their health
Requirements:
- A doctor’s certificate confirming fitness for exercise
- Willingness to take part in the research project
What to expect during the week

You will spend a week in the spa town of Bad Weißenstadt am See and at the Siebenquell GesundZeitResort – with a clearly structured programme of exercise, nature and recovery.
This is how your week is structured:

Set training times – combined with plenty of room for rest and time to yourself.
Exercise programme
Varied training combining strength, endurance, functional exercises, games and outdoor activities – motivating, health-focused and free of performance pressure, tailored to each participant.
What the spa town offers
The special setting of the spa town of Bad Weißenstadt am See is the ideal complement to the programme:
- Siebenquell GesundZeitResort thermal spa
- Kneipp treatments
- Health walks
- Forest Health Training
- Recovery and relaxation by the lake

Lasting results – even after the week
Your stay at the spa is followed by an eight-week digital follow-up phase that helps participants to:
- build new routines
- stay active
- make exercise part of everyday life
The idea is to turn one intensive week into a long-term fresh start.
Dates
Dates for the next intensive weeks are currently being arranged.
Venue: Siebenquell GesundZeitResort – Bad Weißenstadt am See
Cost
Pay What You Can – your advantage
Taking part in the programme has a total value of around €1,948 (including accommodation, meals and treatments at the spa).
For this pilot project, however, you pay only a contribution
of €828.
At the same time, the “Pay What You Can” principle applies:
you decide for yourself what contribution is appropriate and affordable for you personally.
This gives you a high-quality health programme on particularly fair terms – while allowing you to stay flexible.
