Swimming fun at the lake

The Weißenstädter See is perfect for splashing about, paddling and swimming. It is divided into bathing areas and a sports area, so sailors, surfers and swimmers don’t get in each other’s way. In the bay near the bathing island and near the campsite, a sandy beach offers easy access to the water and lots of digging fun for the whole family!

Beach volleyball and basketball

Sports fans can let off steam on the beach volleyball and basketball courts. You’ll find the courts on the bathing peninsula at the Weißenstädter See and between the Spa Park and the sailing area.

Holiday programme

To make sure the summer holidays never get boring, our local clubs put on an exciting and varied programme of courses and outings every year in August & September. The programme is available from the Tourist Information.

Prof. Roggin at the Rogg-In Rye Museum

Children’s programme at the Rogg-In

A visit to the Rogg-In museum is exciting for children, too. Prof. Roggin invites them to search, find and discover. They can take a close look at the world of rye under the magnifying glass, go in search of the field mouse and solve a puzzle or two. The Rye Rally is an interactive questionnaire in which Prof. Roggin guides children and young people through the museum in a playful way.

The rye garden now also has an eco nature trail with interesting information on sustainability and organic farming. Here the Fichtel Mountains beaver also explains things to younger visitors.
